Lions club members meet their scholar
|
In 2008, the Lion’s Club co-sponsored a $5,800 scholarship award over two years that went to Diana Lavoie of Peterborough. On Monday night, June 8th, Diana attended the regular dinner meeting of the club and was surprised to be joined by her mentor, former chemistry teacher Arthur Giovannangeli. On her application she wrote "I want to be as good a teacher as Mr. Gio. He was the greatest ..." Diana had a successful first year at Plymouth State University, where she is majoring in chemistry education and hopes to follow in the footsteps of the teacher who made such a difference in her life. |
